I can't get skip feature to work on Avi or Mpeg. When I press skip it just returns to the beginning of the video each time. I have the Use short skip instead of FF/RW box checked. I am using the remote that came with the MVP unit. Any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Has anybody ever had this problem and then figured out how to fix it?

Anybody have any ideas? I've searched the forum, tried changing decoders and still no success. Could this have anything to do with the MediaMVP software? I've never used it or installed it. I started out with GBPVR and everything has worked fine with the exception of the skip button.

strange. i assume you are both using the internal GBPVR video player rather than some 3rd party one through the My Videos plugin? it kind of sounds like doing a chapter forward on an AVI with zoomplayer...

the only thing i can think of is that you've got some large setting for your skip forward. i think the default is 60. one catch is to make sure that the ManualSkipTimebase is seconds and not minutes.

also, we should make sure this is not a remote issue. during playback, try using the keyboard and pressing CTRL+LEFT and CTRL+RIGHT to skip.

What value do you have in config for number of seconds in default skip control?

My setup is I have short skip instead of FF/RW UNchecked and in skip control defaults I have forward skip 30 seconds back skip size 31 seconds and manual skip time base is minutes and everything work great.

So just hitting skip > I get 31 seconds and skip < I get 31 and if I hit a number key and then skip then iten it skips that many minutes.

You have the "Use skip instead of FF/RW" unchecked. I thought your suppose to have that checked. Anyways, I tried it both ways and I still don't work. The forward skip was at the default of 60, but I changed it to 31, but it still don't work. What playback decoders are you using, I just have the default set right now. I did try the others out but still no success.

Playback decoder set to default. I use two MVP's and the pc monitor for output. No Hauppauge software other than the driver for the 150 card.
