Alright, next step...getting the capture card to work with GBPVR. I am going into the Configuration program (GBPVR's), going to "Capture Sources," Edit, Recording Source->Settings, and my Avermedia m179 is not listed as a "Capture Card Type." I tried picking m150, but that doesn't seem to work as I cannot watch Live TV in GBPVR (it says "Failed to communicate with the GBPVR Recording Service&quotWink. Any ideas? I thought the m179 was supported by default....

It wont work with the M150 settings, as these cards are quite different.

A section will need to be added to the direct.ini file for the M179. With the avermedia drivers installation files, there would have been a .inf file. Can you please email me this to me at support@devnz.com?

Sub,

I mailed you the contents of the .inf file that came with the m179. Sorry, couldn't figure out how to send the file itself, but that is a direct copy-paste of the contents.

Thanks again for taking the time to help [Image: smile.gif]

You could try adding the following to you direct.ini. Let me know how you get on.

PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audio In

I copied that block into my direct.ini file. I then went into configuration, and selected the m179 as the encoder.

When trying to watch "Live TV" through gbpvr on my computer, I get "Error: Failure playing back file"

I do not know if I have the rest of the configuration set up correctly. On the "Playback" tab, I am using a software decoder with "system default" selected, using VMR9. I tried VMR7 and got an object reference error.

I found the problem. The "Recordings" directory was defaulted to c:\, and I don't have a c: drive. I had to point it to g: (my main drive). It looks like I've got all the pieces together now...thanks for you help, Sub. Great program!
