What is digital channel changer syntax?

I want to use the Girder plugin to control a Samsung SIR-T150 OTA Digital receiver. I have not seen any info about this on the web, so I will need to do a bit of scripting and programming to get it to go, especially since I will have the antenna rotator commands to deal with as well.

How will the digital channels be passed to Girder? will the major and minor channels be delimited by dashes, (29-1) commas (29,1), or something else?

It'll only pass numbers. Its not designed for dashes or commas or anything like that.

Channel 52 has 5 sub-channels in it; 52-1, 52-2 and so on, each with different programming. What number will be passed to girder, 521, 522 etc, or some other sequential channel numbers assigned by Gb-pvr?

I can probably find out myself by programming a girder task that logs or displays what parameter was passed. I probably should do that anyway to trap unrecognized parameters and stuff. Or will the event (with parameters) be logged in gbpvr-recording service.txt?

Thanks for the support..I am trying to make this wife-proof, and this would be an important step, getting the Digital reciever hooked into the PVR.

Please let us know how this works out. I'm looking at doing the same thing but with an RCA ATSC11 receiver. I'll probably try using HiP but the same issues apply.

It only lets you key in a numeric number, so it'll pass whatever channel number you enter for it. If you enter 521 against the channel in questions, then it'll send 521 to the girder interface.

UPDATE:
Almost have this sorted out.
I'm expecting to get 4 Girder events for digital channels, so for channel 52-1 I am expecting:

GB_TUNE_5
GB_TUNE_2
GB_TUNE_1
GB_TUNE_EON

I've learned lua (well, at least as much lua as I needed), and have the scripting thing worked out. On to debugging...:eek:

The fun part was getting to the sub channels. They are not directly accessible from the remote, I have to tune to the main channel and hit "channel up" the required number of times to get to the sub channels.

I don't see a wiki entry for how to set-up the Girder channel changer, so once I get this working I'll pretty it up and post it there. There were quite a few helpful postings on this board though...Thanks!
