I've been using GBPVR for over a year (via my PVR-150 card) and find it to be a great product. About a month ago, I found that the EPG stopped updating automatically (it seems that a number of users have posted various issues with Zap2it recently). I verified the correctness of my Zap2it labs settings (both at the Zap2it labs site and on the EPG source section of the config tool; recording source is set to direct recording plugin) in the config tool and and confirmed that the account was active, and even setting up a new account, then setting number of days to update tothe minimum, but none of these efforts solved nothing. Next, I uninstalled GBPVR and did a complete reinstall; however, when configuring, I'd consistently get a message "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly", and when I attempt to exit the config tooll by pressing "ok", it hangs up.

I'm a relative noob when it comes to this and don't dismiss the possibility that I'm doing something incorrectly, but the fact that this problem surfaced suddenly when it has previously worked without issue is odd.

Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

Do an 'Update EPG' then post your config.exe.log and I'll take a look.

If you have a firewall getting in the way, this could account for this problem.

It shoul;dn't be the firewall since I've set GBPVR as a trusted program (although *!#@ Norton keeps asking me if GBPVR can access the internet).

Here is the config.exe log:

GB-PVR waits like 20 minutes, then gives up because it times out getting the response back from zap2it.

How many channels do you have in your channel lineup at http://labs.zap2it.com, and what speed internet connection have you got?

I have it configured for about 40 channels, and I have a high-speed cable connection (3-4 Mbps).

I dont know. Something is getting in the way of commuications then, or zap2it is having problems.

I seem to be having a similar prob. I have a zap2it account and a channel lineup, and so forth. I set up everthing fine in the config, and It still tells me it needs EPG setup?? Could this be a router/firewall issue on my part. Is the a Port that GBpvr needs dedicated to it.

I just find it funny that this started all of a sudden when I didn't make any changes on my end. I guess I could try checking with Zap2it to see if they can explain. Could this explain the config tool hanging up, or would that be unrelated? Thanks again.

Your zap2it account gets expired every 120 days. You need to login to zap2it and complete a survey to get another 120 days. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.
Here is the link to login to your zap2it account. Try it, you will see what I am talking about.

Same thing here, i'm in canada, and it doesnt work at all. I'm having the same error message. Looks like i cannot connect to zap2it while doing the epg update, but then i open firefox, connect to zap2it manually to see my lineup and evcerything is working. I have no idea how to fix it.
