I have been using GBPVR for some time now though after the last few releases any use of the features in the Recordings section has become agonizingly slow. There are 91 recordings so not sure if there is some sort of practical limit to how many you can keep. But simply deleting an existing recording or one pending could take 30 seconds or more, often hanging the app completely. All other non-recordings based menu selections like live TV or TV guide work fine. The only function in Recordings unaffected is playing, which works fine. It just seems impossible to manage recordings in any way ...

I have uninstalled (completeley down to deleting the directory after uninstall) and reinstalled GBPVR 3 times, using the import function to import my recordings and re-scheduling everything again, no luck.

Any suggestions? I'd be happy to try anything or try and older version again as they didn't seem to have this issue.

There is a bug that can cause it to go slow for some people each time it reloads the recording list. I've fixed this for the next release.

Thanks, looking forward to it.

Is there a beta build available?

Thanks sub, I was hoping it would be posted in the beta section as it's become unusable to edit any existing recording. It's not uncommon for it to get stuck for at least 10 minutes before you have to kill the app.

That doesnt sound like anything I've fixed, so I'm guessing you'll still get that.

I fixed a bug that addressed an issue where some people were reporting 5 - 15 second delays entering the recording screen, and each time they clicked on the deleted a recording, or enter a group of shows. I took your original description to sound "close" to this.

I have seen both, the 10 second delay just to navigate, but doing anything other than playing (e.g. deleting) seems to have other more serious issues. Other than a complete re-install which I tried 3 times, not sure what else to do?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the log and I'll see what I can see.

Here is the log, the system is doing the usual 10 second hang but did respond. As usual I attempted to delete a recording, the delay occurs and the file is still there.

Mine(current release version) with lots of recordings (maybe 100+) using XRecord can get a little pokey doing these actions too - if I restart gbpvr it becomes much faster at it, so I tend to blame it on .net memory bloat causing the machine to thrash/page a bit. Looking forward to the next release - will let you know if it fixes it for me.

OT: I know *I* personally seem to come here often to report problems/whine, but man, this is a nice bit of software and a job very well done. Thanks for all the work on it!
