I like the importing of an episode name but it would be nice if it left some reference to an actual episode number.

For example, if I have an AVI named:-

xyz S01xE02.avi

Then when I see that in the list of files, it's pretty obvious that it's series one episode 2. When I browse and fill in the name, all I get is the name of the episode and if they get out of order, there's no context at all to determine which is which.

It's also easier to remember that you're up to say episode 4 rather than by it's name.

Thanks
David.

i remember it the other way, the name gives a clue to what the episode is about and thus its easier to remember.

also you should put a " - " between the show name and the seasonxepsiode, eg
xyz - 1x02.avi

The problem is that when the filename is translated to the episode by doing an episode lookup, that's when my naming convention is removed. That's the problem that i'm describing.

If I choose not to find the episode information then there's no problem, but once the episode information has been downloaded, I don't see my filename anymore but just the episode title.

Does that make sense? What I'm suggesting is that there be an episode number *and* the episode information retained in the listing when the information has been downloaded, or at least an option to do so.

Here's an example:-

The first in the series is actually "Next" but that appears second in the listing and there's no way of knowing that it's in the wrong order without first doing an episode browse each and every time to determine the next episode to watch and without a way of manually reordering, I can't see a way around it.

Incidentally, I came across a small bug when removing items from the playlist yesterday. Using the remote red button, the item gets deleted but the cursor isn't moved to the next item so if you press red button twice, it deletes the first, then on the second press puts up a dialog due to an index out of range.

Cheers
David.

I too would love it if the series season and episode number were part of the displayed name. It's especially useful if you've missed some earlier episodes that then get picked up in mid-season reruns. If you're playing catch-up, like I am with this season of Lost, it'd be nice to have the mid-season reruns sort right into the list of shows, ordered properly. Now the current season reruns I pick up just show up at the end, in order they were recorded, not the order they should be viewed.

kind of old thread, but in my vids 5 ive tried to do both of these things, when you do a tv.com lookup it stores the season and epnumber and when you sort files, if they have the same title (ie show name) it will compare files by the season and epnumber.

this only works if you've done a tv.com lookup, for recordings it will just compare by the filename until you do a tv.com lookup (gbpvr doesnt keep the season and epnumber handy, well to my knowledge).

I'd just like to ask for a Status Report on whether Episode Numbers will be showing up in the titles in the future? God I love this program! I find it incredibly awesome, but this program is also getting me mixed up over which episode is which. Not sure what to do about this.

Sadly, Reven has stopped development of My Videos and the entire "My XXX" series.
