I don't know if it's normal, but ContourHC skin has 55% CPU mean usage. This makes GBPVR weak in operating (I've experienced a lot of hangs and unability to play AVI on MVP).
If I stops GBPVR CPU usage falls to 2%.
Is anyone having such as problem?

What I see is that when an MVP connects up, then yes there's quite a lot of CPU activity for some reason to the point that if I want to watch a video on my PC then I have to turn off both MVP's because the GBPVR application instance that they connect to has a priority that's above normal and thus slugs the PC.

You have a problem with something else, the skin is not at fault.

Make sure it's not the MVP service that's killing you.

If you're using a normal skin for the MVP's that has the Next Recording panel on the main menu, you'll find that widget alone puts quite a hit on your system. Every 5 seconds the MVP menu must be redrawn to reflect the Next Recording status, and as sub has outlined in prior threads, there's a lot of work that goes into rendering the MVP screen via GDI calls. Running multiple MVP's makes it even worse.

Try using a different skin for your MVPs and disabling both the Next Recording and Clock panels in the skin. (Set visible to False in the Main Menu's skin.xml file) I copy the Default Blue to a new folder called Blue MVP, and then disable the panels and set the MVP to use this special skin. I run 3 MVP servers and it improves performance and playback on the host PC dramatically.

Yes I figured it was those updates but never bothered doing much to investigate. The tips are helpful but for now my wife and I just turn the MVP's off when not using them. I like the next recording info and the PC that it runs on doesn't have a problem, only when i'm in my office and feel like watching something does it become a small problem for me and it's not a problem when someone actually wants to watch something else because then that skin isn't active! Smile

I suppose what Sub could do is rather than keep checking and re-rendering every 5 seconds, use the space below to list the next few programmes to record rather than rotate them on one line? For me that would be easier to read anyway.

I'll have a look at the skin.xml though if for no other reason than I have never had a reason to before. Big Grin

Sorry guys I'm not aware of MVP because its CPU load with no activity is around 5%.
It should be the RSS reader plugin that cause the CPU load because with skins: Blue, The Collection and Flat Blue High... the CPU load remains around 3-5%.
The RSS reader plugin gather the info are rolling on the bottom of the screen and that could cause the CPU being loaded above the normal since I’ve no VA panel running…
Furthermore...with The Collection skin I'm able to play simultaneously AVI on first MVP, MPEG on GBPVR and AVI on second MVP with some problem (sometime hangs up).
