I purchased a DVICO FusionHDTV5 Gold Plus and am easily able to decode and watch ATSC digital cable on my desktop. I cannot, for the life of me, get it to work right with GBPVR. I can get the over-the-air portion to work fine with the product but 64QAM and 256QAM channels will not tune. Any ideas?

THANKS and I still think the product rocks! It worked killer with my PVR350.

dvico do not support QAM via their BDA drivers. When you view QAM channels in their software, they fall back to using their proprietary WDM drivers.

Does this mean that GBPVR will NOT work until this is resolved? Is there any sort of work-around?

It means it will not work unless dvico change unless dvico implement QAM support in their BDA drivers. I get the feeling this will happen after the release of Vista later this year, which includes media components that define the use of QAM for ATSC.

Thanks very much for replying so quickly. I hope they resolve this issue soon as I would much rather use this software.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but could there be a work around with the software plug-in?

If that can access ATI's WDM drivers, could it also do the same with DVICO?

No, this not an option. The WDM drivers for analog cards are very different for the WDM drivers for digital devices. WDM drivers for analog device are pretty all implemented the same way, which is what the software recorder plugin is built for. This is not the case for WDM drivers for digital devices - these are entirely different and basically proprietary to dvico.

Also, to access the digital tuning API exposed by the dvico WDM drivers, you need to have access to their SDK. They sell a license to this for US$1000. I certainly wont be buying it.
