Wanted to see who out there has a setup similar to what i would like to get up on my pvr. I currently have 2 pvr150MCE both connected by their analog coaxial inputs (max 125 channel). I have a set top box for my digital cable that I have for just watching, but dont have set up to record. Was wondering if anyone has a setup where one of the cards uses both the analog input and the s-video input so that someone could still change the channel on the set top box if it is recording an analog channel. Is there a way to get GBPVR to manage the recordings so it will not use the STB and svideo input to record on an analog channel? Can 2 different capture sources be configured for 1 card with separate channel listings? If you have this working, I'd love to hear how.

Wifey hates me tinkering so I'd hate to go through the hours of experimenting if this is not possible.

Because the PVR150 only has one capture device it can only capture one thing at a time. Either Antenna based or Svideo/Composite.

I think that's what you're asking. Yes it's easy to set up the PVR150 to be able to record off either the svideo or the antenna but you can't record both at the same time.

For that you need more than one capture device (2 tuner cards, or a dual tuner card like a PVR500).

EDIT: Woops just re-read yours. Didn't see the 2 tuner bits. You should just be able to set up one of the 150s to use the Svideo and the other to use antenna only.

You might want to read the PVR500 setup stuff in the wiki and get the capture device tool to tell you which device is which number. Just trying to find the link.....

I do have the 2 tuner set up and I know that i can configure one to do Svideo and one for analogue, but much of the recording we do is analog with a new choice favs on digital. can one of the pvr150mce's be configured to use both inputs, not to record using both at same time, but to record digital if applicable, or to act as a second analogue recorder (so that we can record 2 analog shows while still watching tv using the digital stb.)

I have the exact same setup and it works fine. On the first card, I have my cable going into the coax. On the second card, I have my cable going into the coax plus my DirecTV going into the S-Video.

Here's my source config:

Cox 1 = Internal Tuner, Card #1 (EPG Acc #1)
Cox 2 = Internal Tuner, Card #2 (EPG Acc #1)
DirecTV = SVid external tuner, Card #2, USB-UIRT (EPG Acc #2)

This setup allows me to record this way.

Record Cable + Watch Cable/DirecTV, or
Record DirecTV + Watch Cable, or
Record 2 Cable Program, or
Record 1 Cable + Record 1 DirecTV Program

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Does anyone else have theirs setup like this? I tried it yesterday, my computer locked up as soon as I ok'd config. Then after I rebooted my database was fubar, big time. I could do anything to repair it. Sad

Should this work?

Thanks

Yes, it does work. This is pretty much my setup, and there is lots of others with a similar setup.
