I've noticed a problem for a while and finally decided to ask the experts. I'm running the latest version of GBPVR and when looking at the TV Guide both on my MVP and via the web tool, I see "gaps" in programming. They show up as blank blue boxes where programs would normally appear. For example, tonight on channel 2, there are no shows between 8:00 PM and 9:00?

[dumb user]I haven't changed a thing[/dumb user] Big Grin

In other cases entire channels, while listed in the left most column, are completely blank, but show up under channel number I don't really get. For example, my Comedy Central is on 60, but while it says 60 Comedy where I would expect it to, there are no shows. Instead it shows up on channel 104 labeled "60 COMEDYP

Any thoughts?

Looks like two issues.

Your gaps are probably about a day out (late tomorrow), depending on the time you do your EPG load. There seems to be a problem with the EPG guide when using the incremental load, but it is easy to fix. Do a full reload of the EPG and then you can go back to the incremental loads.

Second one sounds like you have your chanels set incorrectly in the config program. Check the channels tab in the config application to make sure you have your channels set how you would like to see them.

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. The problem with the gaps occur today. I did a full reload of the EPG and that didn't help. I also removed and readded the capture sure which didn't help either.

When I removed the capture source, the channel tab still showed about 7 channels, but not the ones that were "missing". I could see no way to remove them. After re-adding the capture source, I see all my normal channels with the duplicates again. By duplicates I mean the ones like Comedy Central.

When I edit the capture source, I see the correct number of channels. It's almost like the DB where the TVGuide comes from needs to be cleaned out.

Very confusing...

Just noticed a hole in my guide tonight. I just releaded GBPVR on a clean version of windows, so haven't applied my "fix" to this system, but I am wondering if we are running into a "daylight savings time" issue.

On my previous system, when I upgraded to 96, I had a recurring gap. Reloading the EPG fixed it for me. I am currently recording a show, so will attempt the reload of the EPG later.

Well I removed GBPVR, deleted everything out of the GBPVR directory (but not the subdirectories) and reinstalled. Same fvking thing - my TVGUIDE is still missing shows beginning at 8:00 PM this evening (1:45) from now. Later days appear to be fine.

The missing channels problem was resolved however.

You may want to switch to xmltv.
I have two GBPVR systems.
The one that uses zap2it & complete EPG reload has the gaps between 8:30 & 11:00PM central.
The second GBPVR computer uses xmltv from the same zap2it source doesn’t have any gaps.
MyGuide is also fine.

I saved the zap2it.xml debug file if sub wants to look at it.

daylight savings time affected mine, the gaps i have are for one hour tonight right around the time the clocks change here (eastern standard, usa)... might this be similar for all? i noticed the gaps before, so i emptied my epg & rescheduled my recordings, but there were still gaps.. i paid them no mind, but then my girlfriend asked me to record saturday night live, then i noticed it was exactly one hour after it should have been. and that all my channels had/have a one hour gap in them at slightly different times for some..
i use zap2it as well, maybe they screwed up the daylight savings time adjustment(s).
