Hey gang. I've been running GBPVR for over six months, and having a grand old time. Everything's been humming along nicely, until this week when I started having problems.

As far as I can tell, I've made absolutely no changes in the system. There's plenty of disk space on the drive, I haven't made any hardware or software changes, etc. It just suddenly started screwing up. The "screwup" is different on the MediaMVP than on the computer. If I'm watching LiveTV on the MVP, it goes for a little while then starts repeating... "I'll get you meddling kids, if it's the last, last, last, last, last, last," etc. If I watch LifeTV from the computer, it plays but with terrible vertical striping. If I try to record and then watch the recording, it only records 9 or 10 seconds, no matter if it's on the MVP or PC. I updated to 96.12, just in case, but I get no joy.

What could this be? Can anybody help? I've got a game tomorrow that I desperately want to record.

EDIT: That's weird. Now LiveTV won't work at all... I just get a blank screen. Recording and then watching that recording leads to a "Error: Failure playing back file" error message. I can play back previous recordings.

It sounds like something screwy is going on with your card device or its drivers.

Right, but I haven't changed anything since it last worked, so it should be fine.

I can re-seat the card and reinstall the drivers, I guess. Is that what you suggest?

Ok, sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a really weird question.

Is it possible a specific show could cause it to go crazy?

It's weird... it always dies when I'm recording Doctor Who on Friday nights. It can record anything else without a problem, but it always dies on Doctor Who.

Does that even make any sense?

Sometimes I wonder...my wife and I can watch stuff on the MVP for hours and hours without a problem. Then my daughter sits down to watch some of her shows and it goes nuts...reboots, skips, stutters, hangs, and just generally mis-behaves. I haven't connected it to a specific show but now that you mention it, I'll have to have a closer look. Then again, it could just be bad karma...
