Ok this is a bit freakish.
It looks like my Hauppauge 150's cable tuner audio is toast as well as its IR module.
Anyone experience such a thing?
Here's more details:
So far the setup has been adequate with cable going in along with S-Video from the comcast recvr (for the dig channels).
Yesterday, my remote stopped working. I restarted the IR, and it said "IR hardware not found" (or something very similar).
I have since:
1. Reseated the PCI card a couple of times
2. Reloaded all the hauppauge drivers, that's when I noticed I'd lost audio from Cable input, the aux audio for s-video is still working.
3. Used the HWClear (the hauppauge utility)
4. Reloaded all the drivers and software again
5. Tried the WinTV2000 to see if the tuner catches audio - failed
So from the looks of it I'm kind or toast. Some more questions:
1. If I were to purchase my next tuner card (guessing hauppauge's not going to fix my current one), what would be a good card? ATI wonder Elite seems appealing however it doesnt have an IR Blaster in the package.
2. As a better and well rounded solution is USB UIRT the way to go as far as remotes go? instead of stuff like the hauppauge's 150? I haven't come across a good feature comparison.
Thanks
