Hello all,

I recently replaced my ATI550 with a Hauppauge PVR150 (see reasons below).
Now I have a 350+150 in the same box. The drivers were a little tricky but it seems to work well now.

Then this morning my wife tells me that she recorded a show and almost every time she presses FFWD, GBPVR crashes. I've uploaded the resulting appcompat.txt.

I knew I had another recording on the other card at the same hours, and this never happened before when I had 350+ATI installed. So I tried to crash GBPVR in the same way on the other recording => Couldn't. I pressed Play, FFWD, Pause and Skip multiple times, and couldn't crash it.

My conclusion was: Something is different in the resulting MPG file. I ran the Hauppauge Tweaker, and looked. Here is a list of all the differences:
Code:
PVR350   PVR150
Audio rate  224Kbps  384Kbps
Audio CRC   Off      On
Video rate  3.5Mbps  4.0Mbps
GOP size    15       12

Anyone has a clue what's the problem?

I changed the 150 to match the 350's setting, and set up a recording starting 15 minutes ago, ending 45 minutes from now, overlapping another recording at the same times. I will post results later this evening.

[Off-topic: The combination of my 350+ATI was giving me grief - a lot of times I'd get the 350 and the ATI to mis-tune and I got unviewable video quality. Since installing the 150 instead, it has worked well for 2 days now.]

You really think it's just that?
Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Results of my test are as yet inconclusive.
The only recording I have had today that I can be certain was recorded on the 150 appears to have come out good.
I will follow this until I see a crash, and when that happens, I will try the beta drivers.

I have a similar problem. I am using a PVR500 & PVR150 combination.

I haven't yet found a fix for it, nor is the problem a constant. It just seems that at times the PVR150 record show will not play back properly.

It appears to be completly random.

Hi,

Did you try the 150 beta drivers mentioned above?

I did not try them yet. I am looking to see if I get a crash on some show or not, with only changing the GOP size to 15 (like the default for the 350).
