Hi,

I listen to audio books through the MVP and i've noticed quite recently that files that play perfectly on the PC via say winamp / media player dont seem to play properly through GBPVR / MVP.

Some files will stop near the end of a track and cut off a couple of at worst seconds. I don't know why it does this as i've never noticed it with music files.

How does GBPVR handle MP3s? I'm wondering if its doing something that detects say "dead air" in the audio file and thinks its the end of the track when it isn't? Its rather frustrating

Anyone got any ideas? i've looked in the config .xml to try and find something to help but to no avail.

The MVP sends me a "STOP" message when it reaches the end of playback. It sounds like it is sending this when its finished reading the whole file, but before its played the last bit in its buffer. I'm not aware of any other mechanism I can used to determine when playback is complete.

ah that makes a lot of sense! Is there anyway you could add a configurable timer that when recieving the stop message will wait X ammount of seconds before moving on?

As I said before it doesn't seem to happen to music files just spoken word stuff.

This is probably due to the very low bitrate used for spoken stuff. It means that little bit of data in the buffers can actually represent quite a lot of dialog.

yeah that makes sense..is there anyway to detect what bit rate it has and work up some kind of timer to allow the play back to finish?

I have the same problem, but with music MP3's. I'm using 0.97.7 and gbmvp.bin. Happens on almost every song, it cuts off the last 2-4 seconds. Right now I get around it by adding 4 seconds of silence to the end of the MP3.
