Recently I've had a problem where GBPVR hasn't been recording programs that I have scheduled. A file is created, as if GBPVR is taping it, but it is a 0 kb file. Restarting my computer fixed it, but then it stopped working again (so I restarted and it was fixed). How can I fix this problem(without restarting whenever it stops working after already missing a program)?

It depends what is causing the problem.

Next time it happens zip and attach your logs and details about when it was supposed to record and I'll see if I can see the cause.

Sounds good.

As a refresher, where is the log?

There are several. They're all in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr and all have the file extension of ".log".

Here are all the .log files. The Sopranos was supposed to tape from 9-10, but it didn't. An .mpg was created (as well as two EDL files) but the .mpg is 0 kb.

There is no indication in the logs that anything has gone wrong. GB-PVR thinks everything is ok, but it seems as though you capture card has just not produced any data.

I've heard about problems like this with the WinTV PVR USB2 devices (both GB-PVR and other apps), so I suspect the Hauppauge drivers for this particular device are a bit buggy. Have you tried other versions of the drivers?

I see you are still running v0.95. There is some logic in the the v0.96 release that will restart a recording if it is not growing. While its not a fix, it would possibly help with this sort of problem.

I'll try v0.96. Where would you reccomend getting other drivers? Also, do you have any idea why I've been using this since January and this is the first time I've had problems?

http://www.shspvr.com/smf has links to the latest drivers. Drivers from March this year can be found here http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9658.0

I got the new drivers and updated GBPVR, we'll see where it goes from here.

I won't say fixed yet, but since updating, 5/5 recordings have worked properly.
