Sapphire Theatrix 550 Pro and ATI TV Wonder Elite Tuner.

on a windows xp system.
the sapphire theatrix is supposedly set to Capture Source #1
and the ATI TV Winder Elite Tuner is set to capture source #2

so i updated EPG thing.

restarted GB-PVR and opened up GB-PVR to make sure TV was working. got in. went to live tv. i get the snow effect.

remove the second capture source and the tv worked perfectly fine.

did i somehow set something up wrong ?

both have their own seperate co-axial cable plugged both sides. so i dont see how with 1 capture source set up. it works fine
with 2 it doesnt work.

and for some reason it always wants to use the new capture source for live TV. is there a way to see if the first capture source is working when there are 2 capture source set up?

Reverse the cap. source device numbers and see what happens, i.e., set the Sapphire as #2 and the ATI as #1.

Answering your last question, record two shows at once and Play each under Recordings/Pending.
C2Duo E8400, 4GB, GE8600GT, PCH A-100, HVR2200, NPVR 1.5.31, Win 7 x64.

looking @ the recording status

after i did what u said to do. it seems to work. but i dont know if the first one is working or not. guess i'll have to record 2 shows at the same time to see if it works or not.. ?

is there an easier way?

heres the result..

Theatrix 550 profile (or card i think) recorded channel 7 for 10 mins
TV Wonder Elite profile (or card) recorded channel 6 for 10 mins at the same time. both supposedly 2 different tuners.

channel 6 conains 0kb so it recorded nothing while channel 7 recorded what it was told to do.
so only 1 records?

No not really in my experience. All you really need to do is set a couple of manual recordings going for a few minutes then check that they both recorded.

The device numbering thing is always a confusion and I think is beyond sub's control. It comes down to how the Plug'n'Play resources are allocated automatically by the system and probably depends on the slots the cards are in.

Chances are, if you left the device numbers alone and just swapped the cards between the slots, you'd see the same effect.

and the TV WOnder Elite is right underneath it...

Sorry - we were obviously posting at the same time so I didn't see your post here.

At this point I don't think I have any other suggestions.

The fact you got a 0KB recording is worrying (instead of 10mins of 'snow' or similar).

do u think its cause my CPU isnt fast enough to do dual recording?
its doing nothing else tho. not even anti-virus.. (its a PVR machine, no need for those resource hogs.. lol)

but its still an AthlonXP 1600+
