Just reporting some errors I've encountered with this new version; which I think you've already read (just adding to the pot?).

First and foremost; "AWESOME! PROGRAM!" Long time user, and rare poster... Thanks for all of your hard work!!

Here is this common problem I'm having -- copied / pasted from Windows Event:

Bucket 05823998, bucket table 5, EventType clr20r3, P1 gbpvr.exe, P2 1.0.2325.30009, P3 1b, P4 system.drawing, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4333aeaf, P7 13e, P8 3d, P9 system.outofmemoryexception, P10 NIL.

---
Now "when" this occurs, I'm just starting an MPEG using the MVP player, and then -- while watching TV, the screen goes blank, never starts the file, then I have to reboot the MVP player and walk to the room with the computer and restart the mediamvp server by closing it and watching it restart.

So, I'm guessing (but I'm not certain) this error has to do something with starting to watch an MPEG -- some event(s) that occur at that moment in time during the execution of that script might be a good place to start (thinking out loud)....?

I really hope that helps... Smile

Warmest regards,
Shannon

What files do you have in your c:\programfiles\devnz\gbpvr\plugins directory?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and a attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I'm wondering about two possible causes.

1) possibly a plugin. Maybe try temporarily removing these .DLLs from the directory

2) possibly something to do with UNC paths? I notice you're using these, but its not something I've tested.

That Windows error is the same one that Tipstr & HdTv both indicated (and a few others).... I wonder if they are running UNC paths as well... I'm running those primarily because I've got a few of these applications running on various clients throughout the house. It's always worked great. I'll break the server down and remove the UNC paths and see if that does the trick.

Thanks Smile

Both of these guys fixed their problem by unchecking the 'direct access to Hauppauge remote' setting in the config app.

Ohhhh... I didn't see those posts. I've already had the box 'unchecked' (for quite some time).

Gosh -- I don't know how you keep up with all of this development. I ultimately hope you make some money on this! You've sunk hundreds of hours into this application (and it shows!!!!).

Thank you!

I hate to go backwards, but do you have a link to the previous version?

My wife is going to throw the computer out the window because we keep getting blank screens when using the computers OR the MVP players when attempting to watch videos (they just won't start unless we watch them on the server where everything resides). The other issue is that we can't drag and drop directories of videos into the 'myvideos' folder as we could before. GBPVR won't update the folder listings with the newer folders and libraries I drag and drop... Sad

Thank you!! I'll try it again after the beta progresses some more Smile

Nope. I've deleted it from the server.

Which screen are you using to access these? Nothing has changed in this respect with the built in Video Library in this release.

I use the one simply labled "Videos". This is part of the Video Archive plug in (yes I've upgraded that to the newer version too). It's the only way I could add a video without parsing an XML file and using config. Simply dragging and dropping them was pretty easy (for my 12 yr old).

Unfortunately because it doesn't work I'll just have to use the default application that comes with the MVP player now.. Sad I mean -- when I attempt to watch a video using the MVP player, I still get a black screen and have to restart it several times before it will start playing.. Sad

Thanks though,
Shannon
