Hello,

I've upgraded to 0.97.7 and now the RecordingService crashes after each recording.

I get the following in the Windows error log:

EventType clr20r3, P1 gbpvrrecordingservice.exe, P2 1.0.2325.30010, P3 15, P4 system, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4333ae87, P7 390a, P8 288, P9 system.componentmodel.win32, P10 NIL.

The crash seems to occur directly after each recording. The recordings appear to be fine.

The pc is a lowly Athlon 1100 (I don't use it to watch, just record and view on xBox's) with 512M Ram, 2 * PVR150-MCE & 1 * PVR500-MCE.

I've attached all the log files, hopefully they might provide an answer?

Thanks!

Do you have NOD32, Panda antivirus or Net Limiter on you machine?

0.97.7

I removed 0.96 via control panel

Installed 0.97.7

View Live TV, move mouse over to get Exit Button to appear, Click Exit.

Then I close the window via the X handle in the corner.

RecordingServce crashes "every time'.
(If I wait 15 seconds before I close the window, it 'usually' will not crash)

Click Tray Menu, restart Recording Service.

Restart Live TV, it's okay.

My Antivirus S/W is Avast 4.7. This problem happens with or without Anti-Virus software turned on.

Windows XP/SP2 (All updates)

Edit:

Installed .Net 2.0 before I upgraded
AMD64/2.2Ghz 1Gig RAM

Previous version worked very well, no errors.

No, this problem is not related to AntiVirus Software. My Avast and VRDB was shut down. All services via taskmanager was confirmed by me NOT to be running.

I am having a similar problem with the recording service crashing, with a slightly different error in my event viewer:

EventType clr20r3, P1 gbpvrrecordingservice.exe, P2 1.0.2324.30919, P3 26, P4 system, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4333ae87, P7 2bb9, P8 17, P9 system.net.sockets.socket, P10 NIL

I haven't figured out what exactly causes this to crash, but I have attached the gbpvr log and the recording service log.

Today it seemed to crash as soon as the computer was turned on. The service was started when the computer booted up at 7:45am, it then crashed less than a minute later at 7:46 am.

I am going to try to reproduce the problem (not sure how) and get a better log snapshot.

Thanks for any help.

Nope none of those, the machine is dedicated to GBPVR and is just Windows XP and HIP

Are there Problems with Avast only since 0.97.7 or have older version problems with avast too ?

Sub, just a quick note to say that I think I've fixed this now - I think that an "empty" postprocessing.bat was causing the problem.

Under the previous version I used the "renamerecording" utility via postprocessing.bat to rename recordings with the episode title. Before I upgraded I removed it from postprocessing.bat as I knew that it wasn't compatible with the new sql db, which left an empty file.

I've now deleted the postprocessing.bat file completely and the problem has gone away. Re-creating an empty postprocessing.bat file causes the problem to re-appear.

Thanks,

Martyn

I'm not aware of any problem with Avast, only NOD32, Panda Antivirus and Net Limiter that I mentioned above.
