MVP - error 80070005

OK - let me slip back into dumb mode here.

I've just re-built my PC and it's now running MCE but so far I've been unable to play anything back (that needs transcoding) on the MVP...

Now I know I've missed something fundamental here but bear with me, I'm not as young as I once was.... and a lot older than before I was married!!

I read this as the DVR file not existing/being readable but it does get created.

This is occurring because you dont have the Cyberlink mux filter on your machine. Its unable to find it, so falls back to trying the Hauppauge muxer, which is broken (and no signs of Hauppauge fixing anytime soon).

So why doesn't it pick this one up, or have I lost the plot once more?

Ah! Got it, the dump filter wasn't registered for some reason - I re-registered it using the handy 'Register Filters.bat' file.... hmmm... time to change jobs me thinks... sorry 'bout that.
