Hi Sub!
I've been using GBPVR for 2 months...works great, I've not posted before but read thru the forums...your support is unprecedanted.I'm using a pvr350 and everything was working fine until I installed Panda Titanium Internet Security.When I try to watch LIVE TV or click on a schedule to watch a programme...the hdd lights flicker but GBPVR freezes. There is nothing in the log files(unless I missed it),but I found this in XP's application log under a GB-PVR Recording Error heading:

Service cannot be started. System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted
  at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerChannel.StartListening(Object data)
  at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerChannel.SetupChannel()
  at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerChannel..ctor(Int32 port)
  at w.a(String[] A_0)
  at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)

However WinTV2000 still works. It makes no difference to GB-PVR if I disable Panda...it will only work if I remove it.
Hope you can help me.

Kind Regards,

Conrad

I dont have Panda Internet Security so you'll need to nut this one out your self. I'm sure you can some how set some settings to allow the GB-PVR components to use networking (so they can talk to each other).

The most simple solution, of course, would be using a different firewall. One that's apparently more user friendly.

cheers, arttext

Hi Bennetton and SUB

I will keep you updated, I'm going to keep trying with Panda. I just need to figure out the ports that GBPVR binds to and compare it to Panda. SUB can you give me some info on that??
I tried installing panda anti-virus on its own with the same effect, so it's not really panda firewall(at least not on it's own)

Benetton, have you had any success with this Panda issue. I've had to go to Norton 2005 Internet Security...it works but panda is a #### site better I'd really prefer to use it.
