I just d/l gb and installed but cannot get TV to work. I have Hauppage WinTV PVR USB2 with all updates current, which works fine but lacks functionality of gb. Here's the skinny:
1. Setting up Direct Recording Window - I get message "Drivers for the device do not seem to be installed"
2. Capture Card Type - Tried both Hauppage Wintv pvr usb2 and its sister pvr2 - both prodisc message "No known cards detected in this machine"
3. Recording Source: Direct recording plugin. Same message.
4. If I click on Live TV in Main Menu I get message "Failed to locate configured capture device.

If i switch over to the Hauppage WinTV 2000 application everything works fine. So I guess my ques is - what can I do to get gb up and running.

Running WinXP Pro all updates current 1 gig mem, 2.5ghz
Thanks for any help. fanleaf
PS I read thru the wiki and applied all suggestions there but didn't help.

Some PVR USB2 owners with recent drivers had reported this sort of problem, but were able to get it working by ignoring the 'not installed' message and selecting the PVR2 USB2 device (note the extra '2').

Thanks sub. I was aware of the pvr2usb2 issue and tried both names (see # 2 in original message) with te same result - ie no cards installed. I can't think of anything else to try unless someone has a further suggestion.

You could download GraphEdit and check it your PVR USB2 is listed. This is effectively the same thing as GB-PVR does.

Thanks again sub. I downloaded Graphedit and ran it and it detected my Hauppage pvr usb2 card but still can't get it to show in GB. Are there any ini files or the like that GB uses that i might be able to check or modify?

The logs are found in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory (unless you installed to another place). You need winzip or another zip program to zip up all the files that end with .log in that directory. If you hit "Go advanced" in the forum, then you can attach files with the button "manage attachments"
