Ive looked for some post that makes the best quality and lossless recordings using these turners, but yet i havent found any
i got a couple of questions about this.
1-FileSize, the smallest file should be an XviD, right, but as i have figured it by reading in here, that is not supported, and by that i mean to RECORD in XviD, just to convert it after the recording is made, have i got this correct?
This converting is for me just timeconsuming and since i got a powersupply of 1kW... you all know what im getting at, hehe, dont really want to have it turned on just for that :p
Ive tried to do a convert to XviD without GB-PVR and its no problem for me to do that way over 50 fps(i think, maybe even more) so i dont understand why this is not supported.
2-Quality, this i know, since im using analog receivers, can be due to bad coax cables etc, but the recording is always worse than watching live tv, and i got some studdering(if that is the correct word :p) in the video sometimes too. I use an empty disk for the recordings and i do defrag kinda often, i got 2G of memory and a 2G locked pagefile.
what can i do if its possible for you to say from this.
3-Codecs, Ive read alot of ffdshow in here, that i stoped using some years ago, since it sometimes screwed the videowatch up, but since its in here alot i wonder... is THIS codec something i should use?
I'm not very into all these codec things, but ive seen posts that mention alot of different video codecs and to me it seems that GB-PVR uses multiple once, but that cant be right, can it?
here an example from a post:
* CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (ATI)
* CyberLink Video/SP Decoder
* InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
ok, what does this mean?
i see THREE video codecs, but when i watch other things, i know i only installed ONE codec for that(except that once that are preinstalled with XP).
i cant remember what i type of settings i have in GB-PVR, since im at work right now, but if you need anything of that or other stuff, lemme know and I'll post that when i get home.
4-Upgrade, The name of the GB-PVR package i installed is GBPVR09612.msi, but it is a new out there. Can an upgrade do any of the things i just mentioned here? and it IS!! and upgrade, right? not a reinstall, so i dont have to set all channels again, I'm lazy :p
PS. Again... VERY great proggie you made here, keep it up
