Black screen when exit from playback (97.9)

I've just upgraded from 96.12 to 97.7 and when I get to the end of playback of a recording or escape from playback I get a black screen rather than the menu. From this point on I can't get back to the menu and have to use ALT-ENTER to switch from fullscreen to window and then close the window to quit.

I have .NET 2 installed.

Anyone else having a problem like this?

Hello from another Christchurch person.

I haven't experienced your problem associated with the upgrade, however I have experienced this when using the latest Intervideo decoder with VMR9. I changed to a different decoder and the problem disappeared.

Thanks for the tip! I was using the Intervideo decoder and I've just switched to the DScaler decoder and BINGO problem solved!

BTW, what decoder do you use now?

I use the Nvidia Purevideo decoder. I found the DScaler5(008) decoder to produce a high quality picture but appeared to have a minor timing problem in my case. Using the C4 "Select" show and viewing the scrolling banner, I saw ocassional glitches using DScaler, but perfectly smooth using the Purevideo decoder.
