OK, this is a perculiar one, and not really GBPVR related - but I thought someone might have thought this through before.....

Is there a way to VNC (or similar) 'behind' GBPVR. i.e. can my girlfriend watch TV, while I work on the same computor by remote controlling behind the live video window from my laptop.

I have a dual output graphics card (but only one monitor), so I thought there might be some way of tricking the card into thinking it has two monitors attached - so I can work on one 'screen' while GBPVR shows on the other.....

any ideas....?

gb can use two monitors, there's an option in the config to run on a second monitor. That may do what you want.

Or you could look into Terminal Services. But this would work better on Windows 2003 Server (multi sessions).

i think the way to do this is by using windows remote desktop and a patched dll that enables multiple simultanious connections to xp.

check this thread

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...te+desktop

i have not tried this myself yet tho.

Just to say I use RDP on XP with the patch as gEd mentions and it works fine for me. You do need to use a different user account otherwise the local user will get locked out!

brilliant! - thanks for the replies. My only problem is that I'm running XPHome (don't ask....). Anyone know how to hack RDP onto it without reinstalling?

humm, not sure if home edition will work.

the proper thread for the patched dll is http://sig9.com/articles/concurrent-remote-desktop

[edit]: if home ed. doesn't support this, perhaps you could rig up a dummy vga connector to fool windows into believing that you have a monitor attached

No with XP home I'm afraid you're out of luck. I looked into that with the wife new laptop. Not possible.

Um, that's the patch that was mentioned earlier - which doesn't work for XP Home so won't help the OP.
