 okies guys I just upgraded from a radeon 9800xy to a x1600pro I figured with avivo tech and all the dx9 stuff should be fixed and I should be able to watch my HD recordings without a problem. But no dice!
My system configuration =
athlon xp-m2600 @3400 speeds 11.5x200 2300 mhz
1 gig of pc 3200 2,2,2,5 memory (in weak nforce2 dual channel)
Now a X1600 pro 512 mb ddr2
3 vid cards one of em hd they work fine it's just the hd playback that bites
here are my playback options maybe one of you can see my problem

intervideo non ccs
intervideo
main concept
nero video decoder
audio options are

intervideo non ccs
intervideo
main concept mpeg audio
nero digital audio decoder
so maybe it's a mess because I don't have the right video playback drivers installed if anyone can help me here it would be great
terramir

You can find the ATI Cyberlink H264 decoder here:

http://www.cyberlink.com/cinema/ati/h264.../index.jsp

Plese bear in mind that the X1600 is specced to play 720p and not 1080i according to annandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2645&p=2

Let me know how you get on as I want to go the same way.

Have you resolved this problem, and if not:
Is your HD content MPEG2 or MPEG4?
If MPEG4, is the content ASP (aka DIVX/XVID), or AVC/H.264?
Please elaborate on the nature of the problem?

If MPEG2, then you need an MPEG2 video decoder capable of spporting HD content, eg Purevideo 1.02-223 or the decoders that come with PowerDVD7 or the latest sub-release of winDVD7

If MPEG4/ASP, then you need a DIVX or XVID video decoder.

If MPEG4/AVC, then you need an AVC/H.264 video decoder.
