Hello,

I have a problem with the photo library. When I open a picture, the aspect ratio on the Monitor is correct, but on the TV-screen not. I use the TV-out of the PVR350 and I know that is possible to enter a correction factor anywhere in a config-file, but I do no longer know where. Does anybody know where I can do this?

I have just managed to lay my hands on an MVP for the main TV room (no PCs allowed - too noisy). All worked fine with 97.13. Amazingly trouble free installation and the MVP booted and found the server immediately (No Hauppauge software installed).

The fly in the ointment is the aspect ratio of photographs on the widescreen TV attached to the MVP. Everything is OK on the monitor where GBPVR is running, but the jpegs on the TV are all stretched. This does not satisfy the WAF.

I have searched the forums but all I found was this question and not the answer.

Any ideas?

You'd have to be using a widescreen skin for the aspect ratio of photos to look correct on a widescreen tv.

Thanks. I guess that I hadn't put enough effort in trying different combinations. Having fiddled with trial installations before, I was quite happy that all went so smoothly with a default installation apart from the photos (which are quite imprtant to me).

I'll try some more, but progress will be slow as I am going away in a couple of days.

What I would obviously like to achieve is the aspect ratio being correct on both the 4:3 monitor on the PC and the 16:9 TV attached to the MVP. Does this sound feasible?

(BTW - this is the only piece of software that I haven't abandoned and thrown away. It is good and best of all it is flexible.)

(BTW2 - I wish Radio Times would allow DL of radio programmes as well as TV programmes. This has caused me to abandon XMLTV schedules for the Freeview(UK) transmitted schedules).

I believe Bleb carries this - but of course has had to pull listings for ITV due to legal reason (not that there is anything decent on ITV these days (IMHO)).

Just checked. Yes he carries some radio stations but not all, and not even all the Freeview ones. I guess that the missing stations simply don't publish in an easily accessible machine readable format.

For the moment (WAF) I'll have to stick to the freeview transmitted guide even though it often contains holes and doesn't reach out as far into the future.

Well, I've tried two skins and both either claim or suggest widescreen 16:9. I tried Sassari and Advisor.BlueMen. Both do exactly the same for me.

1. On the 1600:1200 monitor (so its 4:3) where GBPVR is running, the menus are displayed looking a bit crunched horizontally, as I would expect. The photos display correctly. The landscape ones fill the screen and the portrait ones have sidebars.

2. On the MVP, which is connected to a 1366:768 widescreen TV. The menus display nicely, fill the screen and are in correct proportion. The photos are however still all stretched horizontally. The landscape ones fill the screen and the portrait ones have the sidebars but are stretched to the same degree.

Any ideas on fixing this please. Or are the skins wrong in some way?
