All was working well a couple of weeks ago. Then I got a new video card, an NVIDIA 6200, and while I was installing the new video card I also upgraded from 97.09 to 97.13.
I've searched the forums, but I found no one reporting the same symptoms.
Today's experience is typical. I made some video adjustments at 10 AM and put the system into Standby from the System menu. I went out, and when I got back home at 7 PM, the system was running, but with a black screen, and would not respond to the IR, keyboard, or mouse. I shut down with the power button and re-started.
A scheduled recording at 3 PM completed correctly, although there are no log entries for that time period. The system presumably remained on after that recording until I restarted it at 7PM.
The time stamps on all of the GBPVR log files are at 10 AM and 7 PM. Nothing in between, and as far as I can tell, all of the entries in the log files look normal - although I'll be the first to admit I don't know what to look for. Is there any documentation on the log files?
The three system log files also show no entries betewwn 10 AM and 7 PM.
So, the issues are:
- wakes up to make a recording, but won't standby afterwards.
- manual wakeup from standby (with the power button) usually results in a black screen and frozen PC. Power-off reset starts it up OK.
- Would like some help in learning how to use the log files to diagnose similar problems.
