Okay, so i have this Dell Optiplex computer, with NO flippin PCI slots. So im stuck trying to find a decent USB tuner. After searching around, i was thinking of buying a KWORLD PVR-TV 300U, but i dont know if its compatible with this software. So are there any decent USB tuners for about $50 that works with gbpvr?

About the only analog USB tuner I would use with GB-PVR is the Hauppauge PVR USB2. There is also a clone that uses the same reference design, whose name escapes me at the moment, which also works well.

Many of the other USB device out there lack the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

Not the Lifeview TV Walker MINI USB (or sister products).

Okay, so, i realize the tv tuners with on-board mpeg encoding are much better, and that i shouldn't strain the CPU too much, but $120 is out of my budget. So, theres no USB tuners that work with gbpvr for $50ish bucks?

Sapphire/ATI 550 Pro, or a Hauppauge PVR150MCE. I cant give you prices since I'm not in the same country as you. Dont even bother looking at no-name crap hardware.

hmmm neither of those really seem any good, even for the price they charge... Is it really just impossible to get a decent non-accelerated picture?

If im gonna buy a card to install, i would want an agp, but do they even make agp tv tuner cards?

Would this be a good card, and function with this software?

I think a lot of people would disagree with you. These are the most widely used and well supported cards.

AGP is for graphics cards (output cards). There is no such thing as an AGP capture card (input card).

No, it doesnt have the required MPEG2 encoder hardware.

This is so confusing, does new-egg sell one of those cards, i think that ATI one you mentioned will be okay, but the other one wasn't pci, as far as i could tell.... thats what i thought about agp. Could you link to some good pci cards? (if its not too big of a deal)
