Hi,

I am about to buy my second tuner card, but it is not the same as my first one (PVR150). The card I am buying is a Leadtek PVR2000 card, and I hear that it works pretty well. It is open box, so it doesn't come with a remote, and I wanted to know if I can somehow use the remote from my first card (Hauppauge PVR150) with my new card (Leadtek PVR2000). My PVR150 remote is the silver 45 button remote with an ir blaster, but it is not the MCE edition. Please keep in mind that I want to use the same remote for both cards.

Only one device needs to have a remote. Assuming they'll be in the same machine, this is enough to feed the user input into GB-PVR.

So, if I just plug in my new card and set it up to .exe config in capture cards under channel changer, then point it to haupblast.exe, everything should work OK? Or will I have conflicts? Like if I were to record something on one channel, and change the channel on my other tuner, would it change channels on both tuners?

That is nothing to do with the remote control. You only need to do that if you're trying to use an IR Blaster to control a set top cable/satellite box (ie, getting the box to change channels at specific times).

Are you controlling external set top boxes?

Nope. Only thing I am controlling right now is my PVR150 card. So I should be OK then?

All capture sources you have should have the 'channel changer' set to 'none' then.

Yes, that should be fine.

Issue: 2 Hauppauge IR remotes; how to control which is active?

Have searched all Forums. Seems that irremote.ini is the guy? (or not?)Sad
Need help understanding how to accomplish changes.
My machine has a PVR150 (with remote jack) and a PVR USB2 with a remote.

All works OK.

The PVR150 IR receiver is the one that GBpvr responds to.
We want the USB2 IR receiver to be the one responded to (or, better yet both to be responded to).

Sorry, GB-PVR has no control over which IR port the Hauppauge software will use. You'd have to ask Hauppauge about this.

Thanks, sub. Great product, great crowd.

Our intent is to not have to glue the PVR150 IR sensor to something.
We also have an uninstalled "FireFly" from BeyondTV bundle;
Has a nice looking "head" end.
Can it be used in lieu of any Hauppauge?
If so, what value do we select in GBpvr Config?
