Hi,

I'm trying to get some different & latest version of the Cyberlink MUX but not having much luck. I've got some files however after registering they don't turn up in the "BDA Mux Checker" tool? Sad

Re Getting the Latest Version - Any advice???
 • PowerDVD - I've already got powerdvd installed and went searching for the file. There wasn't a THMpgMux.ax however there was a ppMpgMux.ax. After I register it it still isn't picked up by the mux checker. I've attached the file.
 • From Twinhan site - The download page has changed a bit, but I downloaded the drivers for 3056 and found a MCEMpgMux.ax in the zip. After I register it it still isn't picked up by the mux checker. I've attached the file.

Re Selecting the MUX from GB-PVR config - Comments??
 • When I go to the last tab in the config application there is just "Cyberlink" in the pull down menu. How does this relate to which registered MUX (from the mux checker) will be used. If I did manage to install 2 different Cyberlink mux's would there be two entries in the pull down list
 • If the cyberlink mux names have changed with the latest version of powerdvd could GB-PVR not be picking these up due to some hard-coded rules?

PS. I just downloaded the latest version of WinDVD and set GB-PVR to the Intervideo mux setting (I'm testing this now), however the Mux Checker tool isn't reporting the Intervideo mux?

Unfortunately that mux has a different name, and is not compatible with GB-PVR. Its name is "PP Mpeg Muxer" instead of the standard "Cyberlink MPEG Muxer". It is not compatible with GB-PVR.

I'm not sure about this one. It doesnt seem to have a publically usable mux. This maybe Cyberlinks response to the high level of pirating of this filter.

The list always contains the same list of entries. It does not check these are on your machine. It takes you word for it. When in it needs to use the multiplexer, if cant find the one requested, it'll work its way through the list until finds one (or none).

If you have multiple of the normal Cyberlink muxes installed, called "Cyberlink MPEG Muxer", and you've selected to use the Cyberlink Mux, then it'll use the first one it finds with the correct name. MuxChecker will should the versions in this same order.

The Intervideo mux does not come with the WinDVD (DVD player software). It only comes with WinDVD Creator (DVD authoring software)

Oh, so right now if I'm testing (or thought I was testing intervideo), I'm probably really just testing the initial cyberlink mux I have installed then? (i.e. the only one that the mux checker tool is reporting)

In terms of really knowing what GB-PVR is using I can rely on the "bda mux checker" tool out + the knowledge that GB-PVR steps down through the list starting at the selected one then?

tks again sub

Oh dear,

With the Intervideo Mux I'm now trying whenever it starts recording the audio just start coming out the speakers, even though GB-PVR isn't running. Also when you try to play the program whilst it is playing you get a "can't open file error". Details of the version I have after my WinDVD creator install is as follows:
Found: InterVideo Multiplexer
FILE: C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common\bin\ivimux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.88.0
Does anyone have previous versions of (a) Cyberlink & (b) Intervideo MUXs they could send me? Basically the latest versions of both of these seem to give me some problems so I would very much like to try various previous versions of GB-PVR compatible MUXs. I was hoping just attaching the *.ax file would be enough and then I can just register it.

Tks

If you look in GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log, it'll tell you which mux it is using.

I've updated the next version to be able to use the 'PP MPEG Muxer'.

I dont think its necessarily a problem with newer ones, but rather these muxes you've found have different names. The PP MPEG Muxer you've attached is v5.0.0.1228. There are newer versions with the normal Cyberlink MPEG Muxer name (for example, v5.0.0.2022). This version was included with the Twinhan software recently.

I havnt tried the Intervideo muxes in a very long time. They were pretty crap though, with audio sync problems.
