Since I'd been having problems, I figured I should step up to the latest software & FW for my HDHR. I figured if I needed support from Silicon Dust, they'd want me to do that anyway.

So I followed the instructions here. I did a channel scan in the config app (as the instructions stated), and it found a bunch of channels, but I'm unable to even preview them to map them. Every channel I click on in the channel mapper window just gives black.

My next thought was maybe I don't actually have to change the channel mapping, but now every recording on every channel (from the HDHR) is 0 size.

I can preview everything fine in the HDHR Setup application...

I'm not sure where to go for support here or Silicon dust. If I go to SD, what should I collect for them.

I noticed that when I am attempting to preview a channel in the config app, there is a bunch of data coming over my network connection. When I close remap window (to stop the preview), network actvity goes back to nothing.

This would seem to indicate that the HDHomerun is sending something back to the PC, but that the config app is unable to display it for some reason.

Do you know for sure that these channels are unencrypted?

I can preview channels fine in the HDHomerun Setup application. Just not in the GBPVR config app...

Does the GBPVR scan find unencrypted channels?

Let me ask this then: if GBPVR's scan picks up all signals, both clear & encrypted, how do I match a channel that I can view in the HDHomerun Setup application to a channel from GBPVR's scan so I can pick the right channel to preview?

It should all channels, both encrypted and unencrypted. It does try to identify unencrypted channels with an * next to the name, but this scheme isnt flawless so sometimes this indicator isnt correct.

I've never seen the HDHomeRun setup application, so its difficult to answer that. From memory the channel name shown in the scan results includes the program number, which might be able to be used to compare the results with that other app (if it shows them). GB-PVR shows the channel name with an X.Y number, where X was the physical channel number, and Y is the program number.

Thanks

Sounds like that may be the case then - if it's finding everything, I'll just have to look through until I find the clear channels then.

I'm at work now, so I'll post back when I try again. Maybe I should select the 70-138 option in qam.ini manager so there are fewer channels to sort through. If I'm missing some that I used to get, I'll expand from there.

I rescanned using only channels 70-138 & found a couple that I was able to preview.

However, I still haven't been able to get through a complete mapping of channels w/o the config app hanging at some point & having to start over.

Any info on what is causing it to hang?
