Got an MVP and gbpvr, however when trying to get the two to play together, the MPV just loops between connecting to servers, loading application, then hangs for a bit, seems to soft reboot and then detects network settings, you get the "press ok in 3 seconds to enter setup" message, then goes back to connecting to servers, loading application....

I've tried replacing dongle.bin with the one from my hauppauge CD, I've tried all 3 versions in the drop down in the config menus, no joy.

If I run the haupaguge services though, everything works fine

Time for bed, been trying to get this working for 7 hours now (some of that was weird switch problems, but that's a story for another day!)

Any help much appreciated!

This is known to happen with the built in TFTP server on networks that loose a lot of UDP packets. The next version has a better TFTP server included which should resolve this.

In the mean time, you may need to either let the Hauppauge software do the initial boot of the MVP, or install a third party TFTP server.

Kristan, you didn't mention which MVP rev you have, I sent you a PM with access to other dongles, perhaps one of these "might" work better than others, as per this thread. Let me know how you get on.

Yes, I should have mentioned that also. The newer MVPs dont like the old dongle files.

I've posted on the main MVP dongle thread but it seems sorted now, I think it was DHCP related, I think my smoothwall didn't like the way it requested an address or something, after I added a static reservation it seemed fine. Thanks for the help guys!
