Ok, Im new to the PVR world and have been struggling for the last day trying to get this to work. Im going to give as much info as possible and hopefully i will describe the problem good enough that i can get a solution.

My Computer:
Windows XP SP2, updated fully
P4 3.2Ghz HT
ATI Radeon 9200 w/256mem
1Gig of RAM
PVR150MCE
Hauppauge MCE remote w/HIP working
FustionHDTV5 Lite

Screens of settings:

Muxer:
GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Documents and Settings\Mitchell\Desktop\AutoDVRconvert v1.3\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0813

If you're running WinXP SP1 or higher, you will also be able to use the built-in DVR-MS mux filter

-------------------------------------------------------------

Problem:
Using the cable TV GB-PVR works great. Timeshifting, recording, EPG great. The HDTV Card has been nothing but problems. At one point i was able to tune to channels but not timeshift. Currently when i tune to a HD source all i get is a black screen and GB-PVR locks and freezes or restarts my computer. I have attached the logs of when in freezes/wont tune. I have read that the DVR-MS muxer works the best but it wont work. Also when i start trying to tune a digital station and it doesnt work. The recording status says the source still showing that station even tho its not. Then when i try to tune a differant digital station is says no more tuners available. I have to restert the recording service to get it to work.

Any ideas? Please im getting so mad at this stupid thing!

Thanks,
Mitchell

This sounds like an IRQ sharing issue. Make sure your F5 is not sharing an IRQ with any other device.

This is usually a pretty good sign that something is going wrong in the driver layer, so definitely worth investigating daphatty's suggestion.

i was checking through devices in my device manager and it seems. that FusionHDTV, BDA Reciever(ATSC-A) is on IRQ 16 and Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCR II (26xx) is on IRQ 16 also. How do i fix this? ill try maybe moving PCI slots, Is there a better way to fis the problem?

Thanks,
Mitchell

i went into device manager and disabled the 150 and re-enabled it and now the IRQ's arent the same. yet i still cant tune in a digital station. The Fusion works great in the software with the fusion.

First thing I have to point out for anyone following this thread.

"The fusion app uses a different set of drivers than GBPVR. That being said, comparing functionality between the two is only useful for verifying that the card works, can pull a signal, and also to check signal strength since GBPVR doesn't yet provide that onscreen feedback."

With that out of the way, the first thing I would recommend is to switch to the VMR9 renderer rather than the VMR9 custom. Next, change your audio decoder to MPEG Audio rather than ffdshow. (I've had nothing but problems using ffdshow with the F5.) Also, use the Fusion app to choose a channel with the strongest signal for testing purposes. Preferably a channel that is as close to 100% as possible. Try these settings and let us know how things worked out. These are the base settings that I use when building my PVR from the ground up because I know they will always work. I then tweak the configuration from there.

Also, did you configure those channels yourself? Have you tried the new EPG Channel scanner that sub implemented in the latest release? (It works really well!) Big Grin

This now works in v0.98.8

That said, I dont think its going to help you. If its freezing or rebooting your machine, then in my experience, you've got something pretty seriously wrong happening in your drivers.

Did he say that prior to 3 p.m. (EST) yesterday? Big Grin The ATSC channel scan works in the new release.

I just noticed from your screenshot that on the Misc tab you have De-interlacing set to Encoder Pass Through. Try setting that to None and test your channels again.
