Help Please,

My PVR has been great, but I have just started to get the following error message when trying to watch TV on my Nova-T

"Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt"

I have checked and the card plays fine in WinTV - I dont know what is wrong (my PVR150 is still working fine)

The only thing I have done is to change my graqphics card to a nvidia 6200

Edit: I have jsut tried to acces it thorugh the configuration applet, but clicking on the map digital channels to epg channels comes up with another error message "GB-PVR was unable to stat the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not in use"

Many thanks in desperation

Gary

On further analysis on checking round the forum, I have run muxchecker and this shows I no longer have any 'mux' installed?

Where did it go, and how can i get it back (silly question I guess)

[I tried regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpgsplt.ax - whic said OK, but muxchecker still says no muxes exist]

c:\windows\system32\mpgsplt.ax is not a mux. It is the Microsoft MPEG2 Demultiplexer filter - a different thing entirely.

You probably uninstalled whatever app had installed the mux you were using.

Sub,

I have now got the cyberlink mux installed and configured and still get both error messages. I have attached my most recent logs and the following is the summary of the contained error message.

Well, I got exasperated and copied back my copy of 97.13 and did a repair install - everything worked perfectly!!!

Then I reinstalled 98.08 and got the same error messages again, I can only guess there is some conflict in my setup to version 98.08 of GBPVR.

I have gone back to 97.13 for the moment, but hope we can fix this.

To be hoesnt, I'm note really sure. Most of the feedback I've had for v0.98.8 has been really positive so far, so its a bummer its not working for you.

Ah well - it's probably some little driver conflict or suchlike..,

When I get some time I may try and re-install from scratch - if I do that is there a way to export & then re-import my recordings and channel setups from the database, or will it be a case of redoing everything?

There is an option in the config app under plugins to export your recordings to an xml file.
Just make sure to copy that file somewhere that won't be deleted when you re-install.
Then move it back to the gbpvr direcotry and import the recordings back.

Other than retaining the database (gbpvr.mdb or gbpvr.db3), there isnt really. The import/export feature will retain the list of 'ready' recordings, but you'd still need to create your capture sources and setup and pending or season recordings etc
