im not sure if im posting in the right forum or it should go in support ?

im running latest build of gbpvr with a clean install (clean winxp and gbpvr)

im having probs with:

accessing network shares from mvp

running mvp from auto start (systemservice) my network shares are not avalible , but are avalible from the (pc)machine gui (runs as a user)

but if i stop the mvpserver/systemservice and start a mvpserver/ as user things are fine on the mvp ??

help plz :eek: im in pain (sorry for my bad english)

/ski :eek: pper.dk

I ran into this problem as well. It is very easy to fix:

Remove all network shares mapped as drive letters in GB-PVR.

Re-add network shares by browsing "My Network Places."

This results in shares accessed via "//<server>/<sharename>" rather than the drive letter which is only accessible via the user account.

Known behavior of the MediaMVP.

Be sure to start the GB-PVR recording service as a user, and not as a system process. The username needs read/write permission to the share you are trying to access, and systems processes don't have that.

To do this:

right click my computer ->manage

in the tree, expand the "services and applications" branch
Click services
right click GB-PVR recording services->properties
Pick Logon tab
Select "this account"
Push "browse"
Enter user name, and push "check names" to add in needed info
OK
Enter passwords (I couldnt get this to work if I didn't use a real password; If I had no password on the account it wouldn't work)
OK
Restart the GB-PVR Recording Service.
