I live in ohio
I want to add a new tuner card to my computer
currently i am running a hauppage 150
I know at first there was no support for the fusion 5

I have seen that there is a wiki DefineHDTVSource
thanks DaPhatty

but i have read the post that mitchel2345 and some other have posted
I want to add a card

the question is can i use the fusion 5 to watch unencrypted digital cable channels in HD

How hard is it to install (and get running in gbpvr )
(great program sub)

No, the Fusion 5 will not handle digital cable, unencrypted or otherwise, using GB-PVR (nor will any of the other HDTV cards).

The Fusion 5 supposedly will handle unencrypted cable using the Dvico software that comes with it. It's a question of the drivers using proprietary stuff that's not available to GB-PVR. It will work with GB-PVR for OTA (over the air) broadcasts.

I don't think so. The Fusion 5 will handle only ATSC OTA with GB-PVR.

Not with GBPVR. The Fusion only has a software encoder. Only OTA ATSC signals are supported. When Microsoft adds QAM support to the BDA spec and if DVICO releases drivers that support QAM via BDA then QAM(Unencrypted HD cable) may be possible in the future.
