After searching for the ability to do softcam plugins in GBPVR, I found that this feature will not be added. The problem for me is that in Canada, there are no FTA (unless you want to watch NASA and the BEV XPRS channels, telling you how to use your receiver :p ) channels. So what I have done is use ProgDVB to emulate my subscribed card so that I can receive only the channels that I otherwise pay for. (I'm sure everyone says that, true or not.) Now I realize the reason for not including softcam plugins in GBPVR is because of the legality issue. BUT, if GB were to somehow interface with ProgDVB, then it would sidestep the legal issue, and those who wish to do what I'm doing would still be able to have what they've legally paid for, which is mpeg2 quality tv.

Is there any chance what I'm suggesting would be viable? And if so, would there be anyone willing to give it a crack?

Thanks

This sort of integration is not something I intend to add myself, but I think one user managed to achieve something similar using the 'external recorder plugin' and myTheatre. You might be able to roll you custom solution along these lines. If you use the forum search you should be able to find some more details.

Hi. I cannot download the external recorder plugin. When I click the link, nothing happens (firefox tries, but the save dialog box never pops up).

The download wiki is currently under repair. Try again in a few days.

Thanks guys. Got it downloaded, installed and working. I wish I knew how to program, so that I could develop this to work smoothly.

Hey sub, I remember reading somewhere that GB-PVR uses Directshow to pass video to your screen. If so, is there any way to get GB to load a network stream? MyTheatre's "Live A/V Broadcast' plugin allows http/rtp/udp/xns (whatever xns is) streams, and even apparently allows commands to be passed back to MyTheatre.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I think UBUstream can handle setting up web streams as channels inside your EPG

Thanks

Have now somebody a solution for a integration of Progdvb in gbpvr? I tried the 'external recorder plugin', but it only open progdvb with the last channel and I can't change the channel over progdvb. Have sb the working Parameters for 'external recorder plugin' or an other idea?
