Just did a fresh install of Windows XP. GBPVR had been working fine before install (although I hadn't upgraded to latest version). Now I'm having issues with Recordings just not starting. I think I've narrowed it down to the fact that for some reason the Recording Service is "stopped". I'm not sure what is causing this. In the GBPVRRecordingService.exe text file in my gbpvr directory I found this at the bottom of the file (see below). Any ideas?

Thanks, I think you are right. I uninstalled .Net 2.0, installed .Net 1.1 and an older version of GBPVR. This fixed my problems and it all seems fine now.

Any idea what might be causing this problem with .NET 2.0? I am using the Windows firewall and Norton Antivirus, not the NOD32, Panda Antivirus and Net Limiter products mentioned in the Survival Guide.

Not sure, possibly if you look in the event viewer there may be more information related to the error there.

NOD32, Panda Antivirus and Net Limiter are not the only programs that have this incompatibility - these are just three examples. You can usually tell by looking at the faulting module in the Event Viewer crash report.

The easiest fix is to apply the Microsoft hot fix listed in the sticky v0.98.8 survival guide thread.

Am I losing my mind, or is there no file to download on the Microsoft hotfix site?

I'm looking here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923028/en-us

If anybody has it that wants to send it to me I'd appreciate it.
