If I choose a mp3 file for playback, or when I try Netradio, I get no sound at all. If I play a file through Winamp it works fine. I also can use my Xcard to play mp3 files using XMP (player for the Xcard.
When watching tv or playing a recording (throught the Xcard) sound is OK.

Yesterday I had Netradio on for a while, even though I did not have any sound. I found out today that gbpvr made a mp3 file of this, which I can play fine outside of gbpvr. I don't know how gbpvr is handling the playing of mp3 files. Is there a setting I must change? Or is another application like Winamp bothering gbpvr?

I've never had any problem with either mp3 files or net radio. Has always played fine. I don't have anything like winamp running though.

How can I troubleshoot this? Also, I'm wondering how gbpvr plays mp3's. Does it use WMP for this or is there a specific codec I should have installed?

Thanks for your help.

I'm having the exact same problem. Live TV and playback of stored videos is fine. NetRadio and mp3 files no sound. I'm using a pvr350 with svideo and audio to to TV.

paulrking, unfortunately the PVR350 is unable to play MP3s. If you have PC speakers, you'll notice the MP3s are playing back through that instead of the TV out on the PVR350.

I think there is a work around, but I havn't tried it. Someone said you can take the audio out on the PVR350 and loop it back to the Line In on your sound card, then have the sound card Line Out going to the speakers/amp. That way all the audio is coming out of the LineOut on the sound card.

bs007, I am thinking about your problem. I'll try and do some experiments today.

Thanks Sub, that would be great. I have some additional info in case you let mp3's be played through the Xcard. I found that the newer 2.1 XMP (player) is not playing mp3's as well as the older player, XMP 1.2. When I play an mp3 I use XMP 1.2 for better quality. XMP 2.1 has an 'overmodulated' sound (don't know if this is the right word). I don't know if this information is relevant, though.

Thanks sub, if I understand correctly take line out from the pvr350 into line in on the audio card and then line out from the audio card to the TV/monitor/speakers. I'll give that a try tomorrow and let you know the result.

Toget audio out on the 350 besides TV, route the audio from the 350 to the line in of your sound card, then from the sound card to your amp. I have this setup and it works fine.
