The problem seems to be that the second stick uses the following filters

"Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0) "

and

"Nova-T Stick DVB-T Capture (Dev2 Path0) "

Note Dev2 not Dev1.

Adding this...

[Hauppauge Nova-T-Stick Dev2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Nova-T Stick DVB-T Capture (Dev2 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

allows the device to be set up as a capture source but the device will not tune when the "Dev1" stick is in use. I'd guess it's trying to use the first devices tuner.

As the second device uses different filter names GBPVR can't set it as a second device in the bda settings as, I assume, it does with other types of dvb-t devices.

I used the ScanChannelsBDA_UK.exe utility to check and both devices are able to tune.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its pretty annoying they're changing the filter names for each device. Thats the first time I've heard of that being done.

Since they use different names, when you setup you capture sources, you need to set them both as device #1. Is this what you did?

Yep, I set both to #1, only way the config app would recognise it.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

They fact that you've managed to scan and find the channels on both devices makes me think you've got it set up correctly.

Are you sure the drivers with this device actually support using multiple devices at the same time? The drivers for some devices dont. Have you been able to record with both devices at the same time with any other apps?

Easiest way to check - run two instances of ScanChannelsBDA, one for each device and set them both off doing a scan (option 1). Check that channel names are correctly identified in both instances.

Well I tried what Chris suggested and only one would lock on while running simultaneous scans. Both are able to lock on if run separately.

So it does seem that the drivers don't support more than one device simultaneously.

So I guess I'll have to contact Hauppauge support about this.

Well I tried Got all Media with the 2 novas and the same result,

So even though the driver seem to be aware of the possibility of more than 1 device (Dev1/Dev2) it can't cope with more than 1.

Hauppauge support has confirmed it is a driver issue.

They said that they are not getting the support they need from the chip manufacturers to allow their engineers to get multiple tuners working.

I also asked them to put this limitation on their website and it has been passed on to their webmaster. Perhaps someone could add it to the wiki as well.
