Hi,

I have still no success bringing my system to work properly after updating. Sad

However. There is one strange thing I want to report:

Scrolling through my tv guide sometimes happens like this:
  • I start at any show, this is marked green
  • I hit the right button on the remote -> the next show on the right is marked, but only with a border, no green color
  • I hit the right button once again -> the same show is marked, this time with green color
  • I hit the right button again -> the next show on the right is marked green.

This happens from time to time and I didn't find out a system so far. I attach a sequence of screenshots to show that. I looks like as there is an entry for an identical show, same time, same name, just 'behind' the entry of the other.

Does anybody have an idea where to start searching for the reason?

Greeting, Alex

Yes, this is the most likely cause. Try enabling the 'complete EPG reload' option.

Do the start and end times of these shows overlap each other, or does one show end after the hour?

Please have a look: at the screenshots I attached with this message you can see that the show in the tvguide has a border or is highlighted, respectively - but the data shown in the popup is identical.

I did not only do this but also deinstall and reinstall all of my capture cards, feed them with a fresh tvdata.xml file and nothing HEEEEEELPed!!!

It could be a bug in the tvdata.xml file produced by your grabber. It may have that show listed twice. If so, GB-PVR will import them both.

Yes I had this idea, too. I had a look into my tvdata.xml file and looked for multiple copies of that entry but didn't find any. (I did do that for another show, earlier this evening, not for the show listed in the screenshots.) I there any other possible explanation?

Is the following correct: if I remove all capture cards, ALL epgdata is cleared, so when I import the fresh tvdata.xml file, there will not be any 'old' data that could interfere with the new one?

Try doing an 'empty epg' on all of your capture sources first, then do an 'update epg' to see if the problem still exists. Make sure you do the empty on all the captures before doing the update epg.

Actually, I DID find two entries for that show in the xml file (but not for the other that causes the same effect).

Since this is not the only problem I have with gbpvr at the moment, I think about doing a complete new install (including re-installing XP, .net 2.0, etc.). The only thing I really would HATE is loosing all my recordings data.

Will it work to use the export-function (and save this file before formatting this partition of the hard-disk, of course) before - and the import-function after the new installation?

Yes, but it will only retain 'ready' recordings. You'll need to setup any pending ones again manually.
