Hi,

since the weekend when the clocks change my TV-guide is an hour out. as the clocks changed at the same time I believe this is the cause but I cant seem to get it back in line with the real time. how do I rest the TV guide? The clock is correct on the PC.

Regards

Paul

I use Reven's XMLTV guide I have checked the soap files and they are have the program listed at the correct time eg:

NZTV1 NEWS at 1800

but the TVguide within GB-PVR actually displays TV1 News 1900

I'm also running revens XMLTVNZ, and my listings are still showing the correct time.

Is your PC set with the correct timezone, and set to automatically adjust for daylight savings, and did it change the time automatically on Sunday? Mine did, and all was fine. I didnt have to change anything in GB-PVR.

yep PC is set to GMT+12 Auckland, Wellington timezone using winxp and it is set to update to daylight saving time automatically, which it did.

it would seem that something is adding the extra hour for DST when the OS has already taken care of it.

If I disable NTP and the automatically update DST options and then add an extra hour to my PC time making it an hour fast then the actual TV program does of course line up with what is actually on at the moment. but my time is then 1 hour fast :-(

I have now deleted all my ERG data from devnz/gbpvr/cache directory and after restarting GBPVR it still has the TVguide data where else is the data stored I want to remove all data from the EPG and then get it all again to see if that helps?

How do you run xmltvnz? I run it with:

Code:
xmltvnz tvguide.xml -days 7 -auckland

This results in a file with 'local time':

Code:
<programme start="[b]200610030020[/b]" stop="[b]200610030600[/b]" channel="01">
    <title lang="en">BBC World</title>
    <desc lang="en">
    </desc>
    <category>News</category>
  </programme>
  <programme start="200610030600" stop="200610030610" channel="01">
    <title lang="en">Breakfast</title>
    <desc lang="en">
    </desc>
    <category>Talk Show</category>
  </programme>

Some other options can be used to generate times relative to UTC etc (adding timezone stuff like +1200). Are you maybe using these options?

Hi Sub,

I just returned to the thread to say I think I may have sussed the issue and you are spot on I checked my batch file and it was using -offset +1200 so I am now in the process of getting all the listings again this time without the -offset option. I hope this works as I have been recording junk for the last few days :-(

When you add +1200, GB-PVR correctly handles the timezone correctly, but xmltvnz doesnt. xmltvnz takes no notice of daylight savings.

When you have a timezone specified, then GB-PVR assumes that it is relative to UTC. Obviously we are not UTC +1200 all year round...
