Hi!

1. When I watch TV through Gbpvr the picture is kind of "edgy" or "pixly" what can that be?

2. I tryed to use a splitter before putting my cable in my tv-card so I can watch TV when I record.. but then the picture get not as sharp as before, its more "noice" in the picture. What can I do to make that better?

Regards
Jocke

Everytime you put a splitter into the mix, you degrade the signal. Do you have more than one splitter? You can try adding an inline amplifier before the splitter, or you can get a amplified distribution unit (splitter with an amp built in) and see if that helps.

You want the amplifier as close to the source of the signal as possible. The further away it is, there is a chance that the noise introduced from signal degradation could be amplified along with the tv signal. Also make sure you use high quality cabling.

Again, it probably just come down to the video decoder you're using. They all look slightly different. Most people say the nvidia one gives the best picture.

And is that a free download? Don´t you have a link collection to the best mpeg2 decoders?

Also check to make sure you have configured your display settings and your decoder settings for the best possible results. Look for posts by Csy, he has given boat loads of great info on obtaining great picture results. Getting the decoder combination right is a matter of trial and error. Some combos work great for some people, not so great for others.
