Letterbox bars purple instead of black

Hi,
When watching a recording and selecting letterbox(f7) , the bands at the top and bottom of the screen are purple instead of black. Not a big deal but it is distracting. Any idea's?

I have a similiar problem except my letterbox bars are more of a deep purple

To be honest, I've got no idea. I'm not sure why you'd get purple bars, or what you'd need to do to change this colour.

If you're using VMR9 Custom, does switching to regular VMR9 help?

I am only using overlay manager. I had perfromance issues in the past with vmr9. I can give it a try after a recording is done to see if it changes.

I have this issue with overlay manager as well. Did you ever manage to get the black bars back?

I see this with AVIs from my video library, too. Not just GBPVR recordings.

I never did get this solved , it is only noticable in AVI's that were recorded in 16x9 rather than 4:3 - If I take any recording and change the aspect ratio , the purple bars appear. Not a huge problem as I only have a 4:3 TV but occasionally I will download a missed episode if a show that was recorded in letter box and I have to set the aspect to 16x9 to make it look ok and that is when the bars bug me.
