First up thanks for your product - it works brilliantly for me.

I just have one (hopefully simple) issue to sort out. I'm using a PVR-150 card. When I boot up my PC straight into GBPVR there is no sound on live TV, or recordings made at this time. The problem is fixed by exiting GBPVR and running WinTV2000, then restarting GBPVR.

I have tried changing the audio codecs from "system default" to all the other options available but this does not solve the problem. Any ideas on what I need to change to resolve this?

Thanks in advance

I had this problem, I only recently fixed it.

The problem I was having could be fixed by changing the channel in GBPVR or running wintv2000. Start Live TV and change the channel. If the sound returns your having the same probelm I had. The fix was newer drivers. Now when I reboot GBPVR records with sound, and LIVE TV also has sound.

I'm not sure what the driver version was but it was on Hauppagues site 3 weeks ago. I woudl try the latest and greatest from Hauppauge or if your interesting in the bleeding edge try SHSPvr's site.

Let me know if you want the actual driver version number when I'll check when I"m home.

I dont know if any driver fixes it.

It only affects some PVR150 users.

I had a problem with no sound on only 4 channels. When I reloaded the (new) drivers from Hauppauge, I had sound on those channels. I had also asked Hauppauge for technical support and they advised that the new drivers had corrected that problem for a lot of people.

A_Brass, as you know, I have this problem, too, so, yes, I would like to get the dvr version that fixed yours. Friend has it as well.

snave, if all else fails, I have a workaround (force a 1 sec recording at bootup) so I can explain that if needed. But, if a dvr fixes it, that is the better solution.

Hi guys

i had this problem on my box with 2 pvr 150's - and i found it was the way i had configured the channels - ie using the frequencies instead of the channel numbers when tunning in using the tuning assistant.

if you have your box setup with Freq's try changing 1 of the channels to the channel number and then run gbpvr to see if that channel has sound or not....

if it does have sound then thats the same issue i had.

cheers

I have done a couple of restarts with ch number and frequ and I think you are right, skippy. Problem is I have tweaked my frequs to be as good as possible but it is certainly a promising line of enquiry. It could explain why only some get this problem?? Mmmmmm.

i know what you mean - the freqs are good to use to fine tune but i cant use them - i cant remember but i think there might be a difference between cable and antenna setups too - ie i think if i used the antenna i could use the freqs and the channel numbers but the cable option only lets me use channel numbers - cant confirm that cause the wife likes it working as it is....

cheers
