I've been trying VMR9 Custom with the DirectX Exclusive mode configured, and the performance playing back is now similar to the overlay renderer (~10% CPU usage during playback), but without the aspect ratio issues. Smile

The two problems I have seen with it are:
  1. Windows tray area icons update even though they shouldn't really be visible, so they flicker onto the screen between frames every now and again.
  2. When playback is stopped, the last played frame remains on-screen. Underneath, the menu is actually active, it's even being rendered (it's visible via VNC), but the video frame stays displayed on-screen.

I'm using the GBPVR.exe patched to stop the menu from being re-rendered in the background during playback, btw.

FSE is not currently a supported feature in GB-PVR...

Sub was tinkering with it (hence the option in the config file), but it is not going to be a useable feature for quite some time Sad

I believe it's totally broken in the next upcoming release, so you probably shouldn't get too attached to using it...

Sub said he would maybe look at it down the road aways.

This is expected - fullscreen exclusive mode is a broken mess and shouldnt be used. It was a feature that I started working on, but later decided there was several reasons why it was not going to work with GB-PVR's GDI+ based interface.

That's a shame, because it does get rid of the (admittedly slight) tearing effect, and reduces the CPU usage considerably, on my system.

That said, VMR7 works really nicely for me.

Thanks for the info. Smile

I realise that, but sorry, there is no easy way for me to get it working with GB-PVR. (I've probably spent a couple of weeks trying over the last few months)
