Im trying to setup a GBPVR install as a 'client' to my GBPVR box with a DVB nova-t inside. What are the requirements for live tv to work? All I'm getting is a still "static" screen. Sad

It looks like garbage generated either by the video decoder or video renderer. Can you try switching these to other options?

OK, I've tried all the available options in a selection of combinations and just get a mixture of static like the screenshot, a blank screen, or various types of full screen fuzzy lines. The source recording (a DVR-ms file from the nova-t) plays fine if I copy it to the local machine.

Does this bit in the (server's) log mean anything to you?
Code:

Ah, if you using .DVR-MS then you have to use the File Sharing mode.

OK, changed Client to File Sharing mode and I can play recordings fine Smile

But when I try Live TV I get the "starting timeshifting mode, please wait..." message and then a flash of static (like the screenshot above), and then get dumped back to the TV guide. Sad

Does Client LiveTV work with .DVR-MS or have I got something setup wrong?

It should do, assuming you've got the tv buffer share setting set correctly in the config app.

Share paths are fine, if I look in the LiveTV folder on the server a temp dvr-ms file is created which can be played with WMP on both machines.

Code:
28/11/2006 22:03:03.000    VERBOSE    [7]    Starting LiveTV for captureSource: 1 channel oid: 1  filename:

28/11/2006 22:03:18.625    VERBOSE    [7]    Stopping recording oid:1
Strange thing is the file name highlighted above from the server's GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log. It has a mpg file ext for some reason?

Can you zip and attach the client logs?

This is normal. GB-PVR always as for a recording with a filename that has .mpg, but later asks for the final name, which may be different.

After some searching on the forums I've found this thread which talks about the live tv temp file and its size. Looking at the file it follows this behavoir. Thoughts?
