Help!

Just got this Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library message

Debug Assertion Failed!

Program: C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRRecordingService.exe
File: c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\Vc7\atlmfc\include\atlcomcli.h
Line: 148

Expression: p!=0

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

(Press Retry to debug the application)

What does this mean? GBPVR seems to work but things are not recording or working properly in the EPG. ie says it is recording a program that ended an hour ago.

It seems to be trying to record from a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2, but not finding one attached to the machine.

I did have to reinstall the WinTv USB2 PVR a few days ago, but I thought that went fine. The Hauppauge WinTV app works just fine with it and the device manager says that it is working ok. Should I remove the WinTV pvr from the capture devices in GBPVR and reinstall?

A long time back some users had problems with their PVR USB2 disappearing after a couple of days. It was fixed with upgrading to the latest drivers from http://www.shspvr.com/smf, rather than using the drivers that came with the device. I'm guessing you've got this same problem.

I dont know - but its very clear from the logs that the device wasnt present when GB-PVR went to record from it.

Well, the device is present; I ran the WinTV2000 app and watched live TV right after GBPVR failed to use it! Is it worth trying to re-entering the device in GBPVR config? If not, then what do you suggest? Should I go back to older versions of the drivers??

From a drivers point of view, it definitely wasnt present at the time.

I dont know, but maybe they do some proprietary magic which reintializes it. At the time GB-PVR went to use device, there was no filter installed called "Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 Crossbar". I suspect if you'd unplugged it and plugged it back, then tried to use it again it would have been fine.

No, this would have made no difference.

Next time it happens, try running FilterCheck, then attach the filtercheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6
