Hi there, I can't figure this out, I'll try here.

I'm using a PVR150 card from hauppauge to record and watch live TV, the problem is I had no sound from the start only picture, I followed some forums topics to install the latest beta driver. Now they are installed and same problem only picture. I then installed WinTV from hauppauge to check if it was gbpvr problem but no, same problem only picture. After that I installed Hauppauge Video Decoder version 5, after that I got sound in WinTV! I rebooted started up gbpvr no sound in live tv Sad, I closed gbpvr, launched WinTV I got sound !, closed WinTV, launched gbpvr sound oh yes!

The problem is I need to launch WinTV first before I get sound in gbpvr. Is this codec related, any workaround or troubleshoot tip please.

I'm running.

Windows XP SP2 : all patches from windows update.
gbpvr: GBPVR09813.msi
pvr_150 driver : pvr150_500_basedriver64bit_2043_24108.exe (latest beta)

linkdead.

One thing that may help to determine your problem is posting your GBpvr logs.

The instructions are listed in the Sticky titled "posting support questions"

I have copied some of the pertinent info below:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zip and attach your logs
The logs are found in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory (unless you installed to another place).
Unless asked for a specific log, please post all the logs. (typing individual log file names is my pet peeve)
You need winzip or another zip program (windows explorer in XP right click and send to Compressed Folder") to zip up all the files that end with .log in that directory.
Then in your post you hit "Go advanced" in the forum, then you can attach files with the button "manage attachments".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope this helps, Kevin

Sorry I should be reading that first, well here it goes. I deleted all logs first then runned gbpvr with no sound, ziped logs into nosound_logs.zip , deleted all the log files, started up wintv and closed, reopen gbpvr with sound. zipped log files into with_sound_logs.zip Now I can troubleshoot a little myself but any help would be great. thanks Rolleyes

No plugins, and gbpvr GBPVR09813.msi

This is actually fairly common bug with the PVR150. They seem to have some driver initialization issues with some specific versions of PVR150.

All I can really suggest is trying a different versions of the drivers and hope you find one that does the job correctly.

And once you find a working driver, resist any temptation to upgrade. It took me around 4 different tries to get a working one.

The Hauppauge ProdInfo utility on their site gives the best info (tuner model etc), but even armed with this I'm not sure there is much you can do other than hoping someone with the exact same hardware version will let you know what driver version they're running.

I've got this problem, too. Never found a solution but found a reliable workaround. See last post here:- http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=15777&page=3

Every startup kicks the batch file off and this sets up the 150's audio. Problem gone.
