It'll be related to the combination of directshow filters, video card driver, video rendere etc you're using.

I'm using VRM9 Custom with Nvida driver 9.2.9.1, it's their beta HD driver. Everything worked fine before the reinstall so it can't be the nvidia driver can it? What are direct show filters and whats the most stable video render?

Next time it happens I'll write it down but I'm pretty sure it's just that generic windows an error has occured and it asks me to send an error report to microsoft. This also never happened before the reinstall.

if you mean a windows reinstall, rather than just gbpvr, hav you installed your motherboard / AGP driver?
Using the latest AGP driver rather than the 'generic' that MS uses cured my problem....

This happened to me when I tried to update my existing install. I did a fresh install and it went away. It was doing a process every 3-5 sec that I could never figure out what it was.
